Mr. William Troxler Craig, age 88, of Belfast, TN died on Monday, Novemebr 10, 2008 after an extended illness at NHC Merihil in Lewisburg, TN.
He was the son of the late William Thomas Craig and Polly Ann Troxler Craig. He was a World War II veteran, serving in Europe and North Africa. He retired from Arnold Engineering Development Center in Tullahoma, TN after 30 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian in Lewisburg and was an elder and clerk of the Session of Union Presbyterian Church of Belfast, TN and a charter member of the Belfast Lions Club, a member of the VFW and American Legion.
Mr. Craig is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Margaret Craig Hart.
He is survived by three daughters, Suzann Craig Long of Florence, SC; Eleanor Craig of Canton, GA; Martha Jane Craig Locke of Lewisburg. Three sons, David Thomas Craig of Shelbyville, TN, Sam Sweeney Craig of the Liberty Valley Community, and William Douglas Craig of Alcoa, TN. One sister Martha Craig Vannatta of Shelbyville, TN. Nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Craig will be conducted on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Claude McMillion officiating with burial to follow in the Round Hill Cemetery in Belfast, TN. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
