Mrs. Wanda Louise Burgett Cantrell, 72, resident of Lewisburg, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 9, 2019 at her home.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday at 10:00 A.M. at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home with David Hale officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 4:00 7:00 P.M. at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton.
Born on January 14, 1947 in Huntsville, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Calvin Burgett and the late Verdie Lott Burgett. She was a 1965 graduate of Petersburg High School. Wanda attended every football game during her senior year, unfortunately they never won a game. On December 21, 1968, in Limestone County, AL, she married the love of her life, Larry. They celebrated 51 wonderful years of marriage. She was a retired employee of CosmoLab and ICP. Mrs. Cantrell was a devoted member of New Life Church; never missing a Sunday. She enjoyed watch birds, especially hummingbirds and squirrels.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Cantrell of Lewisburg; son, Michael Cantrell of Lewisburg; grandson, Justin Cantrell of Lewisburg; brothers, A.G. Burgett and Tommy Burgett both of Lewisburg; special niece, Jeannie Reece of Lewisburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Melba Clark, Laurece Collins, Elbalene Thompson; and brother, Carlos Burgett.
