Mrs. Vada Hensley Fairchild, age 82, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2008 at NHC Oakwood.
Mrs. Fairchild was a native of Perry County, TN and was the daughter of the late Alonzo Allen and Cora Jane Allen, she was retired from A.L. Mechling Barge Lines with whom she spent many years traveling the scenic Mississippi River, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lewisburg.
She is preceded in death by husbands Luther Delbert Hensley and Fred Fairchild; her parents, Cora and Alonzo Allen, along with five sisters and two brothers and a beloved grandson; Charles Brent Blankenship.
She leaves to mourn her passing by a daughter; Linda Blankenship of Lewisburg, TN; two nieces; Lena Jo Kidd of Linden, TN, Sylvia Lois Hinson of Hohenwald, TN. Three nephews; Charles Ray Katie Cottrell of Parsons, TN, Lester Hensley and Lee Hensley of Estill Springs, TN. A brother and sister in law Watson and Elizabeth Hensley of Estill Springs, TN and a great grandson Austin Riley King of Santa Fe, TN.
Funeral services for Mrs. Fairchild will be conducted on Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at 3:30 PM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery with Buck Rambo and Mark Irvin officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church in Lewisburg.
