Mr, James “Tom” Thomas Lentz, 82, resident of Lewisburg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, July 3rd at 1:00 PM at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Friday, July 2nd from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home.
Born on September 9, 1938, he was the son of the late Willie Lentz and the late Nora Corbin Lentz. Tom was a longtime employee of Walker Die Casting, and later retired from Abeco Die Casting. He loved being outdoors; especially fishing and rabbit hunting. Tom was an avid fan of the UT Vols, Yankees, Atlanta Braves, and any team his children or grandchildren played on. For several years, he enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball. His favorite place to visit was the Great Smokey Mountains. Tom will be remembered for his love of riding backroads and singing along to songs through the static on the AM radio. He greatly enjoyed listening to music by Elvis. Mr. Lentz was a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of just two weeks shy of 34 years, Sue Hull Lentz of Lewisburg; sons, Mike (Chantel) Lentz of Lewisburg, Steve (Vickie Lewis) Lentz of Belfast; daughters, Kathy (Chris Perkins) Lentz Johnson of Pulaski, Angie (Bryan) Towry of Kelso, Amy Perryman Lentz of Lewisburg; brother, Charlie Lentz of Lewisburg; sister, Nancy Chapman of Pulaski; grandchildren, Alyson Purdom, Austin Perryman, Jessica Francis, Kaleigh Lentz, Audrey Towry, Riley Lentz, Justin Johnson, Reese Lentz; and great-grandchildren, Brantley & Brynleigh Miller.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Horace Lentz, Glen Lentz, Richard Lentz; sisters, Marie Logue, Wilma Lentz, Louise Lentz, and Deloris Lentz.
