Stephen "Steve" Beech

Stephen W. “Steve” Beech, III, 77, resident of Belfast, died on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Lynchburg Nursing Center.

Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, September 26th at 2:00 P.M. at Round Hill Cemetery with Reverend Jon Bell of Shiloh United Methodist Church officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday, September 25th from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home.

A Belfast native, Steve was born on December 30,1942 to the late S.W. Beech, Jr. and the late Margaret Moore Beech. He was a 1960 graduate of Marshall County High School, and a 1964 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. Steve was the owner and operator of S.W. Beech Stables. A former president of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders & Exhibitors Association; he was recognized as a Master Breeder, and was a walking horse ambassador to Mongolia. He was also a founding member and past president of the National Spotted Saddle Horse Association. Steve won multiple World and National Futurity Championships, enjoyed trail riding, and was an avid bird hunter.

Survivors include his daughters, Kristin (Richard) Wilhelm of Shelbyville, Nancy Lynn Greene of Columbia, Cindi Williams of Shelbyville; brothers, Bobby (Gail) Beech of Lewisburg and Ray (Jean) Beech of Belfast; grandchildren, Hunter Wilhelm, Grace Wilhelm, Griffin Williams, Sadler Beech-Rose, Hardison Greene; and several nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers include Bobby Beech, Ray Beech, Bill Beech, Hunter Wilhelm, Griffin Williams, and Hardison Greene. Honorary pallbearers include the members of the Belfast Lions Club and past presidents of TWHBEA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Belfast Lions Club, PO Box 13, Belfast, TN 37019.
