Selene Sherrill

Mrs. Selene Foster Sherrill,78, widow of James Jim Sherrill and formerly of the Marshall County area, died Sunday, July 2, 2006 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, Louisiana.
Graveside services for Mrs. Sherrill will be conducted Friday, July 7, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Talley Station Cemetery at Peterburg. Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The Petersburg native was the daughter of the late Lee Roy and Grace Watson Foster. Mrs. Sherrill graduated from the Saint Thomas School of Nursing in Nashville in 1948. Thereafter she worked as a nurse and hospital administrator in several cities including Nashville, Atlanta, and most recently in Hammond, Louisiana at the North Oaks Medical Center where she served as a registered nurse for over 23 years. Her medical career spanned some 58 total years.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Glenn Anderson; her grandchildren, Stacy Wright and Michael Anderson. She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Stephen Steve Sherrill; daughter-in-law, Judy Sherrill; two brothers, Lee Foster and Larry Foster.
Memorials may be made to the Relay for Life Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
