Mrs. Ruth Farish Wilson Chambers, age 88, died Thursday at her Village Manor residence.
A native of Noxapater, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late George Miller and Laura Estella Hickman Farish, and a member of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Chambers was a graduate of UT-Memphis, and was a registered nurse for Dr. Wheat, and the retired industrial nurse at Heil-Quaker Corporation. She had a passion for her garden of roses, mixed flowers, and azaleas.
Mrs. Chambers is survived by her husband: Marshall Chambers of Lewisburg, whom she married in August 1971; a step-daughter: Carolyn Cromer of Columbia; a brother: Robert Farish of Noxapater, MS; and 2 sisters: Agnes Bridges of Louisville, MS and Sybil Cotton of Little Rock, AR. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will be at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM Saturday for visitation. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home, officated by Rev. Paul Woodford and Dr. Tom Dumser. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.
Bills McGaugh Funeral Home and the United States Forest Service have provided for the planting of a tree in Mrs. Chambers' memory.
