Roy Lee Cheeves, age 82 of Lewisburg passed away on Friday, May 31, 2013 in NHC Healthcare-Lewisburg. A native of Marshall County, Mr. Cheeves was the son of the late Claude Lee Cheeves and the late Julia Jett Cheeves. He was owner, along with his wife, of Daisy CeeBee Grocery in Decaturville before he moved to Lewisburg and was a member of the Bethbirei Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Cheeves, who passed away in 2010 and four sisters, Ruby Garrett, Gertrude Baxter, Mae Weeks, and Dora Myrtle Reynolds.
Mr. Cheeves is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carlene Morton Cheeves, a daughter, Patsy (Dale) BoIling, and a son, Jimmy (Brenda) Cheeves, all of Lewisburg. Three grandchildren, Brooke Borne, Andy Bowling, and Trent Cheeves, and six great-grandchildren, Ariel Borne, Moira Borne, Lena Borne, Iris Lasiter, Dylan Lasiter, and Alana Cheeves also survive him.
Funeral services for Mr. Cheeves will be Monday, June 3, 2013 at 10 AM from the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Park
Cemetery. Visitation with family will be Sunday, June 2, 2013 from 4 PM to 8 PM at Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethbirei Presbyterian Church.
