Biography
Roy Burgess Buttrum, age 59 of Lewisburg, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014, at Marshall Medical Center in Lewisburg. A native of Cartersville, GA, Mr. Buttrum was the son of the late Betty Sue Knight Buttrum and R. B. Buttrum of GA, who survives him. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by a son, Tony "Lil Red" Buttrum. He was a carpenter, was of the Baptist faith, and served his country with the United State Army.
In addition to his father, he is survived by one son, Anthony (Wendy) DeWayne Buttrum of Lewisburg, one daughter, Linda (Phil) Warren of Chattanooga, one brother, Charles (Betty Ann) Buttrum of GA, ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, a loving friend, Helen Peters, and close friends of the Peters' family.
Mr. Buttrum's body was conveyed to Ponders Funeral home in Calhoun, GA, with arrangements to be announced later.
