Biography
Mr. Robert William Herbig, Age 74 of Cornersville, passed away on Saturday, September 8, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia.
A Native of Richmond, Virginia, he was the son of the late Elizabeth Johns Berrier Herbig and William B. Herbig. A member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Pulaski, and was a professional musician at age 15. He worked with the Charlie Daniels Band, played drums for Dottie West and Leroy Van Dyke, was a member of the musical comedy group The Corvairs, along with numerous other groups and was a great singer and drummer. He also served his country in the United States Navy.
His parents precede him in death.
Survivors include his loving wife, Kay Herbig of Cornersville, one daughter, Tammy Blankenship of Mandrum, South Carolina, one son Robert W. Herbig Jr. of Bon Aqua, TN, five step children, Kraig Tolliver of Glendale, AZ, Kirk and Kent Tolliver of Flint, MI, Kim Tolliver of Albuquerque, NM and John Kloian of Gilbert, AZ, one brother John Herbig of Richmond, VA, 17 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Herbig's body will be cremated and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
