Mr. Robert Donald Carriglitto, 84, of Lewisburg, Tennessee left this life on October 21, 2023. Born in Pottsville, PA, to Albert and Margaret Orf Carriglitto, he graduated from Minersville High School Class of 1956, after which he enlisted in the US Navy.
During his 21 years of active-duty service, he served as a Combat Medic during the Vietnam War, assisted in mapping the Arabian Gulf as a Navy diver, served as a Radiology Technician and Independent Duty Corpsman.
After retiring from the Navy in 1977, he served as the Hospital Administrator at the State Correctional Institution Dallas, PA, and retired from the State of Pennsylvania Department of Corrections in 1989. He also worked in the Naval Hospital NAS Millington as an Emergency Room Coordinator until his final retirement in 1995.
He loved his family and friends beyond words. He was a lifelong fan of the Nittany Lions, Phillies, and Eagles. F-l-y, Eagles, f-l-y!
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Margaret Orf Carriglitto, his wife Dorcas Ann Hoover Carriglitto, and his brothers Edward Carriglitto and Donald Carriglitto.
He is survived by his children Theresa Keith of Bay Arkansas, Jon Carriglitto (Lana) of Chattanooga, TN, Melissa Shoun (Brian) of Spring City, TN, Michael Carriglitto, and Kenneth Carriglitto of Lewisburg, TN; sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Carriglitto, and Regina “Jean” Carriglitto of Minersville, PA, Marie “Celie” Bowers (William) of Pottsville, PA, Ellen Bowers of Minersville, PA, and Delores Davenport of Branch Dale, PA; and by brother Albert “Jimmy” Carriglitto (Doretta) of New Ringgold, PA; grandchildren Kristen Green (Kevin), Eric Keith (Anastasia), Brittany Wright, Garrett Wright, Connor Shoun, Kayden Shoun, Grace Carriglitto, and Charles Carriglitto; and by great-grandchildren Amelia Keith, Paxton Shoun, and 20 nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
Robert will be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery at a date to be determined.
