Mary Anne Smith, 76, was taken by a flight of angels to her home in Heaven on Thursday, January 18, 2024. She was born in Beaumont, Texas on May 19, 1947, to Jean and JoAnn MickLer. She was a beacon of love, kindness, and positivity throughout her life.
Mary is proceeded in death by her parents and her brothers Joe Phillips and Jay MickLer. She is survived by her husband, Arthur L Smith; her children: Arthur L Smith II of Winchester, TN, Robert L Smith of Tullahoma, TN, Deadra L Markel of Edwardsburg, MI; 52 foster children; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary embraced her faith with unwavering devotion, finding immense comfort and strength in her relationship with the Lord. Her faith was a guiding light, providing her with the resilience and compassion needed to always lend a helping hand to those in need.
Mary and her husband were married on October 15, 1976, in California. A true embodiment of the nurturing spirit, Mary had a deep devotion to her husband, and her family. Because she was adopted, Mary had a special place in her heart for children, especially those in need. With her amazingly generous spirit, she and Arthur fostered 52 children. Whether it was spending time with her own children, grandchildren, or those in the community, she cherished and loved all the children, and they all loved her in return. Her puppies also had a special place in her heart because the love and joy they brought in her life.
Mary exuded a natural warmth and hospitality that made everyone feel welcome. Her loving and caring nature extended to others and was apparent in the smallest of gestures, making every interaction memorable and meaningful.
Mary Annette Smith will forever be remembered for her genuine and compassionate spirit, her love for her family, her unwavering faith, and her zest for life. She has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered. Her legacy of love, positivity, and compassion will continue to touch the lives of others for generations to come, and be rest assured she is at home with the Lord, once again, and still a child…A child of God.
