Mr. Marvin M. Davis, age 81 of Lewisburg, died Saturday, January 3, 2004 at Marshall Medical Center in Lewisburg.
A native of the Hardison Mill Community of Maury Co., TN, he was the son of the late Lee and Minnie Agent Davis. Because of his mothers untimely death, Marvin began working early in life, helping raise his brothers, Houston and Ed. He developed a love for nature and the outdoors, and enjoyed fishing and hunting in his free time. Marvin was a retired press operator with Heil-Quaker Corporation, and recently affiliated himself with the Ellington Parkway Church of God in Lewisburg.
Mr. Davis is survived by 3 daughters and sons-in-law: Mary & Tracy Osborne of Lewisburg, Faye & Jody Nix of Cornersville, and Jo Ann & Wayne Spaulding of Wills Fort, TX; a son: Ronald Ray & Lorie Davis of Winter Park, FL; 4 grandchildren: Rhonda Shapiro of Columbia, TN, Jimmy Lee Whitmire of Murfreesboro, TN, James Bradley Whitmire of Gainesville, GA, and Bill Nix of Cornersville. Seven great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tracy Osborne, Jody Nix, Wayne Spaulding, Ed Wiles, Jimmy Whitmire, and Richard Grubbs.
The family will visit with friends at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home on Monday from 5:00 until 9:00 PM, and again on Tuesday until the funeral hour.
Bills McGaugh and the United States Forest Service have provided for the planting of a tree in memory of Mr. Davis.
