Mrs. Ruth Davis, age 92 of Lewisburg, died Wednesday in Marshall Medical Center.
A native of Bedford County, she was the daughter of the late William Walter and Neeta Lorenia Chapman Wood, a homemaker, and member of the Richland Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Davis was a former participant in the Home Demonstration Club and taught ceramics classes for many years for Sr. Citizens.
She is survived by her husband: Loyd Cooper Davis of Lewisburg; 3 sons: Billy Loyd Davis of Murfreesboro, and Lyndell Davis of Cornersville; a daughter: Murl Davis Franklin of Prattville, AL; and a sister: Mary. E. Dot OConner of Birmingham, AL. 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by two brothers: Paul and Clarnece Wood, and a sister: Margaret E. Dimple Potts.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home with James Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Old Orchard Cemetery in Petersburg.
Pallbearers will be Greg Davis, Keith Davis, Kent Davis, Kevin Davis, Mike Franklin, and Monty Franklin.
The family will be at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home from 2:00-8:00 PM Saturday, and Sunday until the funeral hour for visitation.
Bills McGaugh Funeral Home and the United States Forest Service have provided for the planting of a tree in Mrs. Davis memory.
