Margaret Harris

Mrs. Margaret Evelyn Hawkins Harris, age 92 of Lewisburg, died Saturday, December 30, 2006 at NHC/Oakwood.

Visitation with the family will begin at Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Graveside services will be held Sunday, December 31, 2006, at 4 p.m. at Lone Oak Cemetery.

The Marshall County native was the daughter of the late Thomas Hale Hawkins, Sr. and Rose Haggard Hawkins. She was the widow of T. O. Harris who died in 1983. She was retired as Editor of the Lewisburg Tribune, writing the column, HAVE YOU HEARD, member of First Presbyterian Church, Daughter of American Revolution, Marshall County Art Guild and Marshall County Historical Society and former Marshall County Outstanding Citizen of the Year.

She is survived by a son, Tommy Harris of Lewisburg; a daughter, Beth Justice of Huntsville, AL; one brother, James Hawk Hawkins of Lewisburg; one sister, Kerchie Musgrave of Farmington; three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and three step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Harris; grandson, John Justice; brother, Thomas Hale Hawkins, Jr.
