Mrs. Louise Branan White passed away on October 25, 2009 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, TN at the age of 89.
She was a communicant at St. John's Catholic Church in Lewisburg, TN.
Mrs. White is predeceased by her husband Basil J. White Jr. who owned the White Monument Co. in Memphis, TN. She was the daughter of Homer and Marie Branan of Tyronza, AR. She was also predeceased by her sister Betty Brean and her identical twin sister Eloise Sellers.
Mrs. White leaves behind two sons, Basil J. White III Dolly of Barlett, TN and Barry B. White Cherry of Lewisburg, TN. She leaves five grandchildren, Basil John White IV of Washington D.C., Melissa and Timothy Tighe White of New Braunfels, TX and Branan white and Shelby White of Nashville, TN. She is also survived by her brother, Homer B. Branan Jr., five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. White was a mother, grandmother, and a sister in spirit to those too numerous to mention.
She loved people and sports. Although she spent her entire life focused on others, if she asked, she would pick to saythat her greatest personal accomplishment was winning the title of " Free Throw Champion of Arkansas" at the 1939 Akansas Girls State High School Basketball Tournament in Little Rock, AR.
Visitation for Mrs. White will be held at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.A funeral mass will be held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Memphis, TN on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 11:00 AM with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
