Larry Keith Gross, age 80, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in NHC-Oakwood, Lewisburg, TN. He was born in Kingsport, TN on April 28, 1937 to the late Echel and Zelma Breeden Gross. He was employed with Heil-Quaker, later known as Inter-City Corporation for thirty-four years. He was also a tree-topper. Football and collecting knives were his favorite past times. Larry was known by many numerous nicknames during his lifetime, such as Gross Pay and the Candy Man. He was a member of the Westview Church of Christ in Lewisburg.
Mr. Gross was preceded in death by his parents, Echel and Zelma Gross, former wife, Lillian Marie Gross, grandson, Gregory Scott Gross, great-grandson, Elliot Cade Wright, brothers, Ralph Gross, Gary Gross, Charlie Gross, sisters, Maxine Alvis, Kate Bankton, and Bessie Stapleton. Survivors include a son, Alan (Joanne) Gross, daughters, Donna (Timmy) Wright, Kathy (Jay) Spain and Deborah Pruitt all of Lewisburg, TN, six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three brothers, Roger (Nancy) Gross, Nolan Gross, Fred (Peggy) Gross and three sisters, Nora Tweed, Dorothy Davis, and Elaine Tucker.
Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home and again on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 9:00 AM until Noon. The Funeral Service will be Friday, February 16, 2018 at 12:00 PM in the Chapel with Rick Rolin officiating. Burial will follow in Short Cemetery in the Spring Place Community, Lewisburg, TN.
