L. R. Cheatham

December 15, 1910 — December 16, 2005

Mr. Lewis Richard L. R. Cheatham, age 95 of the South Berlin Community, died Friday morning in NHC-Lewisburg.

Mr. Cheatham was a native of the South Berlin Community, son of the late Daley and Elizabeth Ewing Cheatham, a farmer and carpenter, and a member of the Parkview Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife: Lena Cheatham; and a son: Bobby Cheatham.

He is survived by a son: Dickie Cheatham of Lewisburg; two sisters: Polly Barnes of Bell Buckle and Mildred Blackwell of Lewisburg; two brothers: Wilburn Cheatham of Lewisburg and John Cheatham of Kelso. 7 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 PM from the Parkview Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Cheatham-Rone Cemetery in the South Berlin Community.

The family will be at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home on Saturday from 4:00 8:00 PM for visitation and from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour on Sunday at the church.

Bills McGaugh Funeral Home and the United States Forest Service have provided for the planting of a tree in memory of Mr. Cheatham.
