Joseph Daniel (Joe) Blalock, age 57, owner-operator of Blalock Wrecker Service & Auto Repair and a resident of Lewisburg went to be with our Lord on Saturday, June 18, 2011 after a strong hard battle with cancer. Mr. Blalock was born in Culleoka, TN on August 10th, 1953 to the late Mary Lucille Himes Blalock Jett and the late Enoch Ethridge Blalock. He attended Marshall County Schools and served our country in the United States Armed Forces before operating his automotive business here in Lewisburg. He was married to the late Maria Blalock of Kitzingen, Germany and to Shelia Fay Blalock for seventeen years who resides in Nashville and Lewisburg. They together owned and operated Blalock Auto Sales and Repair for several hears. Mr. Blalock was employed as a supervisor of the Lead Department at the former Faber-Castell Company in Lewisburg.
Two daughters Miss Brette Katherine Blalock of MTSU Murfreesboro and Ms. Jane Christine Blalock survive him. Also surviving are five sisters Ms. Linda L. Joyce of Fisherman's Resort, AL and Lewisburg, Ms. Shirley Ann Hedrick of Lewisburg, Ms. Ellen Boshers of Petersburg, Ms. Helen Peters and Miss Erma Blalock both of Bedford County and one brother Douglas (Doug) Clay Blalock of Lewisburg. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, two sisters preceded him in death Ms. Mary Magdeline Blalock Stewart and Ms. Sylvia Gayle Blalock Edwards and a brother Charles Ethridge Blalock all formally of Lewisburg.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Memorial graveside services will be held on Sunday, June 19th, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Friendship Cemetery at Culleoka, TN with Chaplain Eddie Rogers officiating. Memorials can be sent to Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home in his memory.
