John Hargrove

Mr. John Wesley Hargrove, age 90, of 343 Hillsdale Street in Lewisburg, passed away on Friday, April 27th, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia.
A native of Giles County, he was the son of the late Sadie Price Hargrove and John Hargrove. He was a Veteran and a former POW serving his country in the United States Army during WWII; he was retired from Faber Casteel Corporation, a farmer, and a member of the Richland Cumberland Presbyterian Church of the Springplace Community.
His parents, two brothers, Cecil Hargrove and James Hargrove and one sister, Betty Woodard, precede Mr. Hargrove in death.
Survivors include his loving wife of 29 years, Mrs. Mary Ruth Thomason Lee Hargrove, one son, Toney (Ruth) Hargrove of Cornersville, two daughters, Catherine (Jimmy) Harmond of Sylacauga, AL and Jeannette (Tony) Matthews of Lewisburg, one step son, Charles (Sandy) Lee of Lewisburg. 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 3 great - great grandchildren and 1 step grandson along with several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services for Mr. Hargrove will be conducted on Sunday, April 29th 2012 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery with military honors. Brother Buddy Pope will be officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, April 28th 2012 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
