Joe Fowler

June 30, 1925 — July 20, 2006

Mr. Joe W. Fowler, 81 a resident of Farragut, Tennessee and formerly of Nashville, died Thursday, July 20, 2006 at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.

Funeral services for Mr. Fowler will be conducted Saturday, July 22, 2006 at 2:00 PM at the Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with Reverend E. Thomas Vann officiating. Burial will be in the Beechwood Cemetery with military honors being provided by the Tennessee National Guard. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 1:00 until service time at the funeral home.

The Marshall County native was the son of the late Virgil M. and Louise Head Fowler. He attended the University of the South at Sewanee and was an engineering graduate of Tulane University through the United States Navy V 12 program. He proudly served our country during World War II. Mr. Fowler was the owner of Campbell Station Wine and Spirits, marketing manager for GTE Sylvania Lighting, national sales manager for Lithonia Lighting and former owner of Factory Sales Agency in Nashville. He held patents for many electrical and heating designs. Mr. Fowler's hobby was raising Tennessee Walking Horses for his family to show. He enjoyed flying his Cessna 172 and restoring Essexs and other antique cars. He was a member of the First Farragut United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jean Head Fowler of Farrugat, TN; two daughters, Vickie Moneymaker and husband Mike of Farragut, TN and Nancy Evans and husband Craig of Richmond, VA; five grandchildren, Chris, Jeff and Brandi Moneymaker, Fowler and Anne Victoria Evans; two great grandchildren, Ashley and Taylor Belle Moneymaker; three nephews and a niece. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Frita Fowler and a brother, Howard Fowler.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Sanders, Dr. Copley, Dr. Blacky and all the nursing staff at Parkwest Medical Center for their excellent care and compassion.

Memorials may be made to the First Farragut United Methodist Church, Beechwood Cemetery, or to their charity-of-choice.
