Joe Boaz

Joe Phillip Boaz, 59, went to be with his Savior on Wednesday, March 17, 2010.
Born December 18th, 1950 he was raised in his childhood home Parsons, TN. He was a graduate of Union University. In 1989 he moved his family to Lewisburg, TN, where he continued as a dedicated member and deacon of the First Assembly of God for over 20 years. He served for 30 years in the Army National Guard Reserves, where he retired as a Lt. Colonel. He also worked for the state of Tennessee as a Bank Examiner for 23 years.
Anyone who has ever known Joe will tell you that he was a walking, breathing and believing testament to the power of faith in Jesus Christ. Even as his battle with Huntington's Disease ended, he proclaimed the healing power of Christ. And now, that faith has made him whole.
Joe was preceded into light by his father and mother, Tim and Bobby Boaz of Parsons, TN. He is survived by; his sister, Annette King, of Mountain Home, AR, his brother Tim David Boaz of Parsons, TN, his wife, Helen Marie Carter Boaz of Sullivan, MO, his son Joshua Lee Boaz of Crawfordsville, IN, son Robert Micah Boaz of Chattanooga, TN, and daughter Rachel Joanna Joni Boaz-Adams of Sullivan, MO. He was the proud Grandfather to six adoring grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home from 4 to 8pm on Saturday, March 20th..
Services will be held at 2:30pm on Sunday, March 21st, at the First Assembly of God in Lewisburg. Burial will follow at Lone Oak Cemetary.
At Joe's request, memorial contributions can be made in lieu of flowers to the Huntington's Disease Society of America at www.HDSA.org.
