Mr. Jim Douglas Hooten, age 75, of Cornersville, TN passed away Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Marshall Medical Center.

A native of Belton, Texas, he was a retired school teacher with fourty-seven years of service being a School Administrator, Counselor, Vice Principal, and Principal, a member of the TWHBEA, The Rotary Club, The Lions Club, And the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He was a member of the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Nashville, TN.

Mr. Hooten is preceded in death by his parents Lewis Hooten and Ruby Edna Griffin Hooten.

His survivors include his loving wife of thirty four years, Susan Garbade Hooten of Cornersville, one daughter, Taryn John Paul Riner of Cornersville, one son, Douglas Hooten of Cornersville, one sister, Kay Lenard Dziedzic, of Mart , TX one brother, Gene Pat Hooten, of Richmond, TX , two grandchildren, Courtney Arnold and Grayson Riner, one nephew, Duane Dziedzic, and one niece Dianna Garf.

Funeral Mass for Mr.Hooten will be conducted on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 1:00 pm at the St. John's Catholic Church with Father Bill Kelly officating, burial will follow in the Sunset Park Mauseleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis , TN 38105. The American Cancer Society, Marshall County Unit, 2000 Charlotte Ave. Nashville, TN 37203 or your favorite charity.
