Jean Petty, 81 years of age, passed away on 21 July at her residence in Evanston, IL. Jean and her husband, Dr. Glenn Petty, who preceded her in death, raised their family and resided in Chattanooga from 1962 until 2008. As her Parkinson's Disease progressed, Jean moved to the Chicago area to maximize her time with her loving family. She is survived by her six children, Rebecca Boylan (John) of Boston, MA; Donna Petty Valenzuela of Madison, WI; Wesley Petty of Corpus Christi, TX; Carol Petty (Joseph) of Arcata, CA; Gail O'Toole (Jim) of Denver, CO; and Neil ("Andre") Petty of Chicago, IL; and two grandchildren, Glenn and Stephen Valenzuela. Burial will be in the town of Jean's childhood home and the resting place of her husband, Cornersville, TN. A memorial service will be held at First Centenary United Methodist Church in Chattanooga on Saturday 28 July at 11:00 A.M. The service will be in the Kate Lyle West Chapel and it will be most conveniently accessed through the Houston St. entrance to the church.
