Mr. James Thomas 'Babe' Estes, 84, a resident of 724 Spring Street, Lewisburg, passed away Friday evening, October 27, 2006, at his home.
Funeral services for Mr. Estes will be conducted Monday, October 30, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with Perry Muse and Reverend Aubrey Knois officiating. Burial will be in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday, October 29, 2006 from 4:00 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Born in Marshall County, South Berlin Community, he was the son of the late Marvin P. Estes and Judy Josephine Morton Estes. Mr. Estes is survived by his wife of 65 years, Juanita Bennett Estes. He was a foreman in the construction industry and a deacon and member of Berean Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Ronnie Pat Estes of Shelbyville; granddaughters, Cindy Culpepper of West Frankfort, Illinois, Dawn Evans of Belfast, Tammy Staub of Michigan; grandsons, Shane Estes of Normandy, Tommy Estes of Wheel, Todd Estes of Michigan, Ronnie Estes of Carlsbad, California; twelve great grandchildren and David Davis, a special friend. A son, William P. Estes, preceded him in death in 2000.
Pallbearers will be Gene Parsons, Larry Harwell, J. W. Stephens, Don Bryant, Henry George, and Joe Pittman. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Callahan, George Smith, Don Porter, Dawson Long, Kenneth Caldwell, and George Worden.
