James Dwight Crumley passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at his residence in Murfreesboro, TN. He was born on December 10, 1951 in Marshall County, TN. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal and Rifle Marksman Badge during his time in service.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James L. Crumley and Bonnie Crumley-Staggs. Mr. Crumleys survivors include two sons, John Crumley, Wilmington, NC, Patrick (Melissa) Crumley formerly of Columbia, TN now residing in Lillian, AL, two daughters, Bonnie Dandy, Murfreesboro, TN, Celeste Crumley, Columbia, TN, two brothers, Larry Crumley, Lewisburg, TN, Lester (Valerie) Staggs, Lewisburg, TN, four sisters, Judy Michael, Chapel Hill, TN, Kay (Roger) Smith, West Paris, ME, Rita (Ronnie) Hartley, Lewisburg, TN, Freda (James) Gilliam, Lewisburg, TN, along with four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, August 7, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Chapel of Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home & Crematory and again from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 8, 2017. The Funeral Service will follow visitation on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 with Billy Lambert, pastor of the Summerdale Church of Christ in Alabama officiating. Burial will be in the Lone Oak Cemetery.
