James Benton ' 'J B Anderson

Mr. James Benton J B Anderson, age 85 of Lewisburg, died Thursday evening in Marshall Medical Center.
A native of Jackson County, AL, he was the son of the late James Edward and Rhoda Davis Anderson. In August 1938, he married the former Hester Marie Ray, having three children in their union. Mr. Anderson retired from Red Stone Arsenal, and was a cattle farmer following retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lewisburg, where he served as a Deacon. He was preceded in death by two children, a son: Jim Anderson in 1999, and a daughter: Carol Anderson in 1954.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife of 66 years: Marie Ray Anderson of Lewisburg; a daughter: Bennie Anderson Bell of Florida; sister: Ruth Erwin of Florida; 6 granddaughters; 6 great-grandsons and 5 great-granddaughters.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home. Graveside and interment services will be conducted Sunday at 3:30 PM in the Locust Grove Church Cemetery in New Market, AL.
The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home.
