Mr. J. W. Smith, age 71 of Lewisburg, died Friday morning in Maury Regional Hospital.
A native of Lincoln Co, he was the son of the late Tom and Ally Smith, and a member of the Baptist church. He was a truck driver for Nora Mills and Deason, and retired from the maintenance department of ICP.
He is survived by his wife: Marie Anderson Smith of Lewisburg; 2 daughters: Nell Roger Adams and Christy Johnny Miller, both of Lewisburg; 2 sons: Danny Henson of Lewisburg and Ray Henson of Nashville; a brother: James Poodis Smith of Lewisburg; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home, officiated by Bubba Wray. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Sunset Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Roger Adams, Teddy Anderson, James Anderson, Andy Rogers, Charles Adair and Joe Moss.
The family will be at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home on Saturday from 2:00 8:00 PM for visitation, and again on Sunday until the funeral hour.
Bills McGaugh Funeral Home and the United States Forest Service have provided for the planting of a tree in Mr. Smiths memory.
