Mr. Ira L. Andy Anderton, age 84 of Lewisburg, died Thursday morning in NHC-Lewisburg.
A native of Lawrence Co., AL, he was raised in Hatton, AL, and was the son of the late Edmond Sherman and Mima Burnett Mardis Anderton and a member of the Lewisburg First Church of the Nazarene. He served his country in Japan during World War II in the United States Army, had worked a time for TVA and was a retired electrician with Reynold's Aloy Company of Sheffield, AL. In addition, he was a member of the National and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 50 years.
Mr. Anderton is survived by a brother: Clebie Anderton of Decatur, AL; 6 children: Wade Anderton of Maryville, Wanda Paul Wallace of Lewisburg, Edward Joe Lorry Anderton of Collierville, Jerry Rhonda Anderton of Florence, AL, Linda Glenn Liggett of Lewisburg, and Marvin Onita Anderton of Town Creek, AL; 13 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 PM from the Providence Baptist Church in Hatton, AL, with burial in the Providence Church Cemetery.
The family will be at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday for visitation, and two hours prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
