Hester Anderson

Hester Marie Ray Anderson, 90, of Lewisburg formerly of Huntsville, Alabama passed away on Monday, March 29, 2010 at Mease Countryside Hospital in Safety Harbor, Florida. Born on February 18, 1920 in Hurricane Creek, Alabama, Marie was one of twelve children of Morgan and Beatrice Ray. Her profession was that of a beloved wife for 66 years and mother of three. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Anderson, 2004; son, Jim, 1999, and daughter, Carol Jo, 1954. She is survived by a daughter, Bennie Bell and her husband Don Moore of Merritt Island, Florida; six granddaughters, Rhonda Bell of Burbank California, Leigh Scott of Merritt Island, Florida, and Brenda Allen and her husband Andrew of Safety Harbor, Florida, Stacie Vengrouskie and her husband Fred of Decatur, Alabama, Jamie Schultz and husband Owen of Port St. Lucie, Florida, and Jennie Anderson of Knoxville, Tennessee; 12 great grandchildren, Jessica, Nic, Meredith, Ben, Paige, Morgan, Mac, John, Lauren, Ethan, Matthew, Evan; one great, great grandson, Sky; and two sisters, Irene Asakawa of Portland, Oregon, and Katy Jo Tondu of Houston, TX. How fortunate we were, so blessed, so lucky to have her in our lives! Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 3 at Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home 755 Yell Road, Lewisburg, TN 37091. The viewing for family and friends will be at 12pm followed by the service at 1:30pm. Interment will be at 3:30pm in Locust Grove Cemetery, Locust Grove Alabama. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marie's name to The American Heart Association.
