Fred Thomas McGaugh, age 87 of Lewisburg, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013, in NHC Healthcare-Oakwood in Lewisburg. A native of Marshall County, Mr. McGaugh was the son of the late Fred Thomas McGaugh, Sr. and Maxie Green McGaugh. He served his country in the United States Navy. After retiring from the City of Lewisburg, he went to work for Russell Vending, and he was a member of East Commerce Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Ike McGaugh, who passed away in 1967.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Annie Thompson McGaugh of Lewisburg, two daughters, Teresa (Mike) Miller of Lewisburg and Brenda (Jim) Walls of Chapel Hill and one son, Tommy McGaugh of Franklin. Five grandsons, Lance Miller, Brad Miller, Tracey Miller, Jimmy Wayne (Lasonya) Walls, all of Lewisburg, and Spence (Rhonda) Walls, of Chapel Hill, and one granddaughter, Lessie (Kenneth) Uselton of Laverne, eight great-grandchildren, and a special friend, Doug Atkins also survive him.
Funeral services for Mr. McGaugh will be Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at 2 PM from the Chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with Tom Sumner officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Park Cemetery with military honors. Visitation with family will be Tuesday, December 10, 2013, from 10 AM until the funeral hour at 2 PM at Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home.
