Mr. Eddie McKnight, Sr., 76, longtime resident of the Mooresville community, died on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, October 23rd at 1:00 pm at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home with Rick Rolin officiating. Burial will follow in Bryant Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home. The McKnight family strongly encourage those attending the visitation and funeral service to wear facial masks and practice social distancing.
Born on August 24, 1944, he was the son of the late Foster McKnight and the late Clara Calahan McKnight. He was a longtime home builder, and a retired employee of the Tennessee Department of Transportation. Eddie was an avid carpenter and enjoyed hunting. He was a proud supporter of Marshall County Tiger football and baseball. Mr. McKnight was a member of Westvue Church of Christ. Above all, his greatest enjoyment and love was his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Bowden McKnight of Mooresville; sons, Eddie “Mack (Debbie) McKnight, Jr., Jeffery Allen (Kim) McKnight both of Lewisburg; four grandsons, Dylan (Hannah) McKnight, Derrick McKnight, Josh McKnight, Logan McKnight all of Lewisburg; brothers, James A. McKnight of Mooresville, Ronnie McKnight of Culleoka; sisters, Beverly McManus of Atlanta, Debbie Burch of Culleoka; and several nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers include Tommy Blalock, Bud Richardson, Chad Woodward, Tommy Higdon, Roy Huey, and Mike Isabell.
