Dorothy Stocstill

April 21, 1926 — May 3, 2005

Mrs. Dorothy Eloise Pigg Stocstill entered her heavenly home and there joined her beloved husband, George Wilson Stocstill known my most people as Tootle on May 3, 2005. She passed away at the home of Steve Stocstill, her son, in Kansas City, Kansas. She will be buried next to her beloved husband in the Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg, TN.

Dorothy was born April 21, 1926, in Lincoln County, Tennessee and married Tootle Stocstill on January 12, 1946. They lived in Fayetteville until 1946 when they moved to Lewisburg. She lived there until she went to her sons home in 2003.

She made friends with everyone she met. Dot had a great sense of humor and we all family, co-workers, nurses, caregivers, doctors, church members, neighbors and friends received the benefit of her warmth, humor and love. It was not unusual to see a small child on her lap or her arm on the shoulder of a loved one.

She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Lewisburg, loved her community and had lived in Lewisburg for over 50 years.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Steve and Jan of Kansas City, Kansas; three grandsons: Brian, Matthew and Andrew; one great grandson: Evan, and one great granddaughter: Taylor; two brothers: Guy Hensley Pigg and Joe Mack Pigg of Fayetteville; three sisters-in-law: Opal Pigg and Wilma Pigg of Fayetteville, and Louise Stocstill of Lewisburg; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.

She will be missed but she leaves us the legacy of her love, gentleness, sense of fun, wit and caring. Still, her passing will create a blank place in her familys lives and the lives of all she touched that cant be replaced.

A very special note of thanks to the wonderful angels of Kansas City Hospice, who provided very tender loving care during the 15 months of her life.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home. The family will be at the funeral home Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM for visitation, and again on Friday morning until the service hour.

Bills McGaugh Funeral Home and the United States Forest Service have provided for the planting of a tree in memory of Mrs. Stocstill.
