Mrs. Dorothy Pinkston Hursh, 97, resident of Lewisburg, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Village Manor Assisted Living.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and in accordance with Governor Bill Lee’s Executive Order No. 23, a private family service will be held at the Sunset Park Mausoleum.
Born on September 25, 1922 in Culleoka, she was the daughter of the late Elvin Pinkston and the late Ola Blanch Parrish Pinkston. She was a graduate of Marshall County High School. During World War II, she worked as a logistics administrator for the U.S. Army at Camp Forrest in Tullahoma. In 1945, she married her sweetheart of seventy-five years, John S. Hursh. Mrs. Hursh was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband, John S. Hursh of Lewisburg; sisters, Pam Pigg of Pulaski and Nancy (James Lee) McDonough of Lewisburg.
