Mr. Donald Thomas "Dude" Hunter, age 86, of the Verona Community passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia.
A native of Marshall County, he was the son of the late Frank W. Hunter and Myrtie Montgomery Hunter. He was retired from Genesco with 28 years of service and owned Hunter's Market in Verona for many years.
Mr. Hunter is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marjorie Weaver Hunter, two sisters, Lenis Floyd and Mary Frank Cathey, one brother, James Calvin Hunter.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Kingcaid of Antioch, TN, one son, Frankie Thomas Hunter of Tiptonville, TN, two sisters, Grace Ewing and Martha Hunter both of Lewisburg, one grandson Patrick Kingcaid of Mount Juliet, TN one grand daughter Amy Hunter of Lewisburg, TN, five great grandchildren, Mallory Brown and Aspen Tankersley , Hannah, Chase and Chloe Kingcaid.
Funeral services for Mr. Hunter will be conducted on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home with burial to follow in McCurdy Cemetery in Verona with Brother George Jones and Brother John House officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 29, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and also after noon on Friday, January 30, 2009.
