Collier Hunter

Mr. Collier Lindsey Paw-Paw Hunter,89, formerly of Lewisburg was born January 28, 1917. For the past few years he had made his home with his son on Maple Drive in Woodbury, Tennessee until his death on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Centennial Medical Center.

Funeral services for Mr. Hunter will be conducted Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Pedigo officiating. Burial will be in the Lone Oak Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 3:00 until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

The Giles County native was the son of the late Alan and Kitty Smithson Hunter. He was a graduate of Jones High School. Mr. Hunter was the widower of Jane Bayley Hunter whom reflected his love for his family, friends, church, and community. He retired as Senior Inspector for the State of Tennessee Environmental Department. He was a long-time member of the Verona United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir and participated in many other church activities.

He is survived by a son, Richard Allen Glenda Hunter of Woodbury, TN; 3 grandsons, Chad Angie Hunter of Murfreesboro, TN, Scott Hunter and Blake Hunter both of Woodbury, TN; 8 great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren, Bryce Tonya Blocker of McMinnville, TN, Tonya Bob Davenport and Julia Phillip Reed both of Woodbury, TN; a sister, Evelyn Lowe of Lewisburg. He was preceded in death by a son, Joe Cowden Hunter; 2 sisters, Elise Pollock and Lib Fitzgerald; 2 brothers, Raymond Hunter and Claiborne Hunter.

Pallbearers will be Terry Lowe, Tommy Pollock, Larry Parr, Chad Hunter, Scott Hunter, Blake Hunter, Bob Davenport, Phillip Reed, and Bryce Blocker. Honorary pallbearers will be J.T. Hargrove, Terry Turner, Jack Fagan, and the members of the Mens Bible Study Class at Verona United Methodist Church.
