Clarence Braxton (CB) Barnes, Jr., age 86, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at his residence in Lewisburg, TN. He was born on April 14, 1932 to Clarence Braxton and Margaret Crickenberger Barnes, Sr. in Grafton, WV. CB was a veteran of the Korean War. He was an active member of the 'Old Geezer's Club' and spent his years of employment as a self-employed contractor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, CB and Margaret Barnes, Sr., wife, Betty L. Barnes, and sister, Betty Jean Barnes. He is survived by his children, Bill (Angie) Barnes; Bob Barnes; Brenda (Roger) Scruggs; Alice White all of Lewisburg, TN; a brother, John Barnes, West Virginia; sister, Mildred Dean, Brownsville, TN; and six grandchildren, Ashley (Michael) Welgan, Tampa, FL, Roger (Rachelle) Scruggs, Jr., Nashville, TN, Ben (Ashlee) Barnes, Murfreesboro, TN, Brad (Kendall) Barnes, Spring Hill, TN, Brent (Jorden) Barnes, Lewisburg, TN, Knox Barnes, Lewisburg, TN, and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm with a Memorial Service to begin at 6:00 pm in the chapel of Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home with Brother Tom Smith, Bob Phillips, and Jim Bingham officiating.
