Billy Wilkerson

July 25, 1926 — March 26, 2005

Mr. Billy P. Wilkerson, age 78 of Old Hickory, died Saturday evening at his residence.

A native of Marshall County, he was the son of the late Eugene and Louella Parks Wilkerson, and an electrical estimator for Hardin Electric. He served his country during World War II in the United States Navy, and was a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner. He was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Elizabeth Tyree Wilkerson; and a son: Major Billy P. Wilkerson, II. Billy was passionate about his family, golf, and living a joyful life.

He is survived by a daughter: Christy Mahoney of Knoxville; 4 sisters: Laquita Weaver, Kathryn Adcock, and Ellawayne Fagan, all of Lewisburg; and Dimple Dean Wilson of Knoxville; and his companion and friend in recent years: Ima Willie of Belle Meade. 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild also survive.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 4:00 PM Monday at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home. Graveside services will be conducted Monday at 4:00 PM in the Sunset Park Cemetery Garden of Love, with military honors.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
