Betty Norene Edmondson was born in Huntsville, Alabama on December 9, 1934 and transitioned to an angel on January 22, 2021. She was the only child of her loving parents, Wayne and Nara Edwards.
She graduated from Petersburg High School in Petersburg, Tennessee and went on to graduate from Columba Business College. She married her childhood sweetheart, Bobby Tokie Edmondson. They spent 2 years in Detroit, MI, while Tokie was in the army. After moving back to Winchester, TN, Betty then worked for over 10 years at AEDC as a secretarial assistant. She retired from AEDC to become a mother. She dedicated the next 18 years of her life to being a wonderful mother and raising her beloved daughter, Lisa Edmondson Sparks.
Her life passions included gardening, cooking, and giving her every ounce of heart and soul to her daughter, Lisa. She and Tokie were members of First Baptist Church in Winchester where she taught Sunday School and was on the decorating committee. Betty had an extraordinary knack for flowers and she was an active member of the Winchester Garden Club. Betty was the epitome of southern hospitality in every way possible. She made the best pound cake and loved hosting family and friends on many occasions. She was giving of herself and always seeking to help others in need. When her grandchildren were born, her life became encompassed by the role of being a grandmother, playing with, and enjoying time with Whit and Abby. She was also blessed to become a great-grandmother to Stokes in 2020.
Betty was an only child and is preceded in death by her Father, Wayne Edwards and mother, Nara Beddingfield Edwards. She is survived by her life-partner since she was 14 years old and husband of 65 years, Bobby Edmondson, daughter, Lisa Edmondson Sparks, grandchildren, Whit and Abby Sparks, and great-grandson, Stokes.
