Bettie Whitehead

Mrs. Bettie C. Whitehead , age 88, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at NHC- Oakwood.

A native of Marshall county, she was the daughter of the late George Cozart and Eula Wright Cozart. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Benton Whitehead Sr., two sons, Charles and Floyd Whitehead, a brother, Frank Cozart, a sister, Clara Myrtle Cozart, and a grandson, David Davis.

Survivors include, three sons, Benton Whitehead Jr., James Betty
Whitehead, Jake Linda Whitehead all of Lewisburg, one daughter, Ruby Jimmy Calahan of Lewisburg. Nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Whitehead will be conducted on Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home with burial to follow in Sunset Park with Arthur Payne and Mike Whitehead officiating. Visitation with the family will begin on Saturday, April 4, 2009 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
