Benton Randle Benny Jones, age 58 of Lewisburg, died Wednesday in Hillside Hospital in Pulaski.
Born in Nashville, Benny was a life-long resident of Marshall County. He was graduate of Marshall County High School, and earned his degree in Dairy Technology and Business from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. He was active in the Marshall County Democratic Party. He worked in Sales & Marketing, was a member of the Baptist Church, but had attended the 4th Ave. Church of Christ in Franklin.
Preceded in death by his father: I. R. Jones in 1995, he is survived by his mother: Mrs. Mary Womack Jones of Lewisburg; 3 children: Whitney Jones of Athens, GA, Lizabeth Jones Wells of Memphis, and Benton Parker Jones of Nashville; two sisters: Carol Jones Long of Lewisburg and Mary Etta Moorachian of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and a brother: David Jones of Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Bills McGaugh Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Tom Dumser. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at the Mt. View Cemetery in McMinnville, TN.
Pallbearers will be Gary Yarbrough, Marion Ray Smith, Sam Garner, Ernest Henegar, Joe Henegar, Danny Wilson, Larry McKnight, and Mike Guin.
The family will be at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home from 4:00 7:00 PM Thursday for visitation, and Friday morning until the funeral hour.
Bills McGaugh Funeral Home and the United States Forest Service have provided for the planting of a tree in Bennys memory.
