Barry William Kohl, 70, resident of Petersburg, TN, passed peacefully from this life into the loving arms of our Lord, surrounded by the love of his family on September 30, 2021.
Barry was born on November 14, 1950, in Sterling IL, to the late Eugene William Kohl and Alice Irene Benson Kohl. His love for God was constantly shown throughout his life. Whether it was telling someone about Jesus, or by helping anyone in need, he would be there. He had never met a stranger. He was a computer programmer for 50 years, and after retiring he worked for Waste Management of Chapel Hill. Barry was a very active member of the New life Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, working on cars, and farming.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Patricia Kay Kohl; brother, Steven Kohl; children, Elizabeth (Matt) Lewis, Jeffrey (Rebecca) Kohl, Emily (Joe) Bradford, Cassie (Mark) LeVasseur, Rachael (Josh) Imlay, Nora (Garret) Bagley, Seth Kohl, Grace (Nick) Riggs, and Olivia Kohl; grandchildren, Marshall, Garrison, Temperance, Crockett, Nels, Oliver, Zach, Caitlin, Timothy, Addison, Anna, Charlotte, Jamison, Matthew, Madalynn, Ethan, Grayson, Hudson, and with the 19th grandchild on the way.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Caroline Gardner and Anita Nelson.
A Celebration of Barry's Life will be conducted on Thursday, October 14th at 6:00 pm at the Hi-way 50 Drive In, 1584 Fayetteville Hwy, Lewisburg, TN 37091. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Life Church Building Fund; https://www.fellowshiponegiving.com/App/Giving/newlifelewisburg
