Alvis Simmons

Mr. Alvis Billy Simmons, age 83, of Lewisburg died March 10,2008 at NHC-Merihil.

Born In Marshall County he was the son of the late Al and Clemy Toseland Simmons. He was retired from Heil Quaker Corporation after 42 years .He also worked at the Wal-mart Garden Center for 14 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and National Guard for 16 years ,a member of the Disabled Veterans, and a member of the Westvue Church of Christ.

Mr Simmons was preceded in death by his parents Al and Clemy Simmons and a daughter Patsy Ann Simmons. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Frances Jett Simmons, one daughter Pam Andy Chunn of Pulaski, two sons Mike Velvet Simmons and Terry Simmons both of Lewisburg. Five grand children, Noah And Nathan Simmons, Rebecca Tolene of Knoxville, Jon Chunn of Florida, Tyler Simmons of Pulaski. One great grandchild Kathryn Tolene of Knoxville.

Graveside services for Mr. Simmons will be conducted Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Berea Cemetery with Elder Ed Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 12, 2008 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM.
