Adelaide Townsend

Mrs. Adelaide Poteet Townsend, age 65, died Monday at Baptist Hospital in Nashville.

A native of Davidson County, she was the daughter of the late Richard & Ruth Kilgore Poteet, a secretary with Hendersonville Orthopedics and a member of the Hendersonville United Methodist Church.

She is survived by seven sons: Lee Laura Greengrass of Houston, TX, Brian Dana Townsend of Nashville, Jason Pam Townsend of Michigan, Spencer Allyson Townsend of Hendersonville, Troy Townsend of Nashville, Keith Elaine Townsend of Ashland City, and Todd Townsend of Nashville; one sister: Daisy Ruth Bannister of Houston, TX; and thirteen grandchildren: Crystal, Brian James, Drake, Austin, Conner, Hanna, True, Noah, Emmy, Katie, Justin, Christian, and Elissa.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 AM from the Hendersonville United Methodist Church, officiated by Bro. Ben Alexander. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

The family has requested that honorary pallbearers be Wade Crandle, Leo Bragg, Bob Argo, Charles Young, Brian James Townsend, Christian Greengrass, Drake Townsend, Wayne Bannister, and Lee Bowling.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 2:00 PM and again from 4:00 8:00 PM Friday at the Cole & Garrett Funeral Home in Hendersonville for visitation.
